Day Ridges Preserve is open!

We’re excited to announce that our Day Ridges Preserve in Gouldsboro is officially open to the public! This Preserve offers two miles of nature trails for hiking, and access to our weekend paddler’s trail.

Baker Hill Trails leading to granite ledges with views of Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Mountain.

Jordan Homestead One-mile trail offers views of Whittaker Brook and the Union River on a 31 acre property.

Frances B. Wood Natural streams and bogs with easy walks up old woods roads.

Taft Point Explore woodlands and coastal beach, while taking in vistas of the Acadia Mountains, Stave Island, Calf Island, Schieffelen Point and Schoodic Mountain.

In the summer of 2020, Frenchman Bay Conservancy partnered with the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and The Nature Conservancy in Maine (TNC) to renovate a bridge that crossed Jellison Brook in Mariaville, ME. Through this project, FBC & partners restored access for fish and other organisms to 12 miles of upland stream habitat. The road crossing the bridge is safer for human travel. This project represents partners acting together to be the best possible stewards of this land.
